DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Berkeley Marina

When I first arrive the woman at the front desk was very kind and pleasant . She also gave us some double tree complementary cookies. They were warm and delicious. In my opinion,the best things about this hotel is the beautiful Marina and sitting area outback . The hotel is very beautiful and clean .There was also a restaurant overlooking the water by the marina. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to visit it this time so I can’t comment on the actual food . We really enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfortable and the balcony was a plus.

Lovely view of Bay usually, but the large tourist vessels blocked the view. Still, it was a nice walk.

Great size room with a good bathroom. Quality toiletry items in bathroom. Good amenities: safe, ironing board, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was good and service was excellent. The staff were very friendly.

Dinner was great! Had the wagyu steak and a cocktail out on the patio. I would have ordered an after dinner cappuccino, but was told it wasn't available. Suggestion: It would be great if the waitstaff/hostess didn't ask "Is it just you?" We solo travelers don't like being "just." We are not lesser for choosing to travel alone. A better ask is, "Will anyone else be joining you?" I didn't bring a dog, but I really appreciate how dog friendly the hotel is.

We had a room with a wonderful view of the Bay which I loved. The location was perfect as we also had dinner at their restaurant one night with the same Bay view. Food was superb - good value for money and very helpful wait staff. Our waiter's name was Vikas I think (an Indian name beginning with Vik!) He was very friendly, helpful and solicitous to just the right extent for our long meal. Other staff also very helpful. We were in Berkeley for a wedding and stayed 2 nights with 2 other couples at the hotel.
